Swiss and Round Robin tournament

Hi, lichess is an amazing chess platform ! At the moment it lacks the tournament feature, the "arena" mode existing is not a usual mode in Chess Swiss and Round Robin (all players play all others) are the classical ones (also it exists eliminations with 2, 4 or more games each round to choose the winner like the World Chess Championship Match).

See the easy site : www.playok.com to watch how Swiss tournament works : http://www.playok.com/en/tournaments/?on=ch

What happens when a player resigns for instance after 4 rounds with a tournament with 7 rounds ? He loses all games. In round robin opponents win them, and in Open Swiss tournament the pairings are done without him. So one think about to resign because of the rating loss.

For Swiss and Round Robin you don't specify time for all the tournament. You only specify the time for the games (for instance 5 minutes + 3 secs, creator of the event chooses it). Games start at the end of previous round (when the last game finishes), so the players just wait the last game to end (and usually most of the players watch the last game finish ! :) ).

I hope these indications can help. I make promotion of Lichess since it is a free software, and it will be more interesting for the people when it will propose such the classical chess tournaments features.

Thank you for reading this !
Clarkey: Perhaps you could add "(Swiss)" and "(Arena)" after the name of the created tournament in the list of open tournaments so people see immediately what kind of tournament it is?
Clarkey I don't know if it works since I never played one, I tried to launch some with no success...

There is no official Swiss tournament launch neither (there is Arena Dayli blitz and Hourly Blitz)

Also to launch one, it asks "time for the whole tournament" in the tournament parameters, that is inaccurate in Swiss, since it is only the game time limit and number of rounds that determines how much time it will be.
