The global average rating went down or ive become better?

I remember months ago (check my rank graph) i struggled to keep a 1700+ rank, now im feeling confortably into 1700-1800+.

So now i wonder ¿there was a rank inflation recently (because more people) or i have become a little better player?

Lichess is the only place where i play chess so i dont have more references.
I occasionally wonder about rating myself, but it's likely that you're ability has improved.

I ask myself a lot about it too. When I started to play chess at the beginning of the year (on lichess), I remember that my rating was around 1000 in classical, and now I'm around 1600, so obviously I got better but I have no idea how much it is worth compared to the official ELO rating. Can someone tell me if lichess rating in classical is worth (much) less, (much) more or is near equal to the official ELO rating ?
The greatest enjoyment out of chess is when you can see your growth as a player, i was 1100 when i first started at chesscube.

This question is asked frequently, both in the forums and Q&A, but unfortunately the search function is down for maintenance right now.

Pretty much "not equal" to any official ranking, but anecdotally, it's commonly said that your Glicko 2 rating on lichess will be slightly higher than say your USCF, FIDE, or other such "official" ratings.
