Puzzle 33264

In the final move of this puzzle, I captured the black queen with my rook (instead of my queen), causing me to fail the puzzle. Why is this?

The most obvious reason that I see is a loss of tempo having to defend the queen (by retreat, most likely) from the knight that comes out after taking the queen.
