Longer tournaments?

Why doesn't Lichess.org provide the ability to create tournaments with longer time-control?
The max is 7+2, why not something like 10+5, 15+5 or even 45+2?
Uh, because they'd go for a VERY long time.

The time controls that you're suggesting are usually played over the length of a day, or several days. Ain't nobody got time fo' dat in a tournament system that doesn't have breaks.
Why can't we have tournaments with FIDE time controls 120 min for first 40 moves thereafter 60+30 for remaining moves. Swiss format. One game perday. Scheduled. If somebody doesn't arrive on time we can wait for 45 mins and give points away to opponent. In case both are abscent nobody gets any point and tournament continues as is. If abscent for 2 or more games continiously considered as withdrawal. how is it?
Those aren't the FIDE time controls any more, not since the rule change took effect. Now it's 90 minutes for the first 40 moves + 30 minutes for the rest + 30 seconds for every move from move 1. So that's 10 minutes shorter for each player over the first 40 moves and half an hour less after that.

There are some 90+30 games being played in a little tournament, but there's no way to add the extra time after 40 moves. The current (and first) 9030 tournament appears to be going quite well, so there may very well be another one after it.
Not the way it is managed by team. It should be official like we have Arena and Swiss tournaments. Anybody can create and invite people to join. 90+30 is good instead of timings i suggested.
