Fantastic article! I just had a tough tournament game and failed to win a "won" game against a lower-rated opponent. I was angry at myself, but this article made me realize that it's okay and that it happens to everyone.
Thanks for your always interesting blogs.
Some technical issues with this blog (at least when i view it):
1. All the example games start at the END position instead of the start position. This is confusing.
2. Example games for #4, #5, and #6 are all the SAME game ("Don't be greedy") I didn't check all of them.
I hope you can fix these items. That would be great!

Why is 4 5 and 6 the same game
Very instructive, I would place #1 "Keep Your King Safe".
A few days ago, I was totally being beaten until a mistake by opponent allowed me to draw through perpetual check.

Deretter cr
This was very well written with excellent examples. Thank you.
Well written!
I'd add a nuance to #2: Exchange pieces, but not your good ones for the opponent's bad ones. Which is all too easy at times.
