Chess 5040

5040, it's the number of positions in random chess if one removes the restrictions of having the king between the rooks (in order to castle) and of having the bishops on squares of different colours.
In short, having 5040 different initial positions would make this variant about 5 times richer than it is now.
Chess 5040, that's my suggestion !
Thank you.
Thank you !
I add that, if castling is possible (king between rooks), it could be done in that variant, as in chess 960.
And having bishops on the same colour is not a problem. In addition, it would allow a triple attack on a diagonal (with the queen), as a triple attack is possible with the rooks and the queen on a column.

I think the problem with the Bishops being on the same color would present itself when you think about how your opponents position is symmetrical to yours. If White's bishops are on A1 and C1 (dark squares), Black's bishops would be on A8 and C8 (light squares), so you both would have 2 unopposed bishops to start the game.
