Happy Birthday Edward Snowden

You can imagine that a lot of the things CIA and NSA did were ethical wrong?
But it's not only the secret service in USA.
#Whiplash775: I agree with you. The US government is working tirelessly to ensure the safety and securities of her citizens. Sometimes she has to "walk in the mud" to do just that. She put up surveillance cameras and tap the wireless to secure informations concerning the terrorist groups ( 911/ Al-Qaeda). Therefore the sacrifice of some freedom from her citizen is inevitable. Long Live US of America. bye friends
Typical American views shared here.

I also respect Edward Snowden. He is my Hero.
I think as a Edward Snowden with a heart for the right thing he has to "walk in the mud" sometimes to do just that.
@ Swastika, Snowden would be a traitor no matter what country he was from, just so happened that he was from America. Had he been from India, he would be a traitor to your country. Typical American views as you put it are what make this country exceptional and great. You should try it some time. Especially right before you need our help.
In germany we have Artikel 20 in the constitution.
It is some kind of right of revolution.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_of_revolution
If you do something that would let you look like a traitor but you do it because for example the government is acting against the constitution you do it legaly. In this case you're not a traitor, you're more a hero.
By the way.. for example the Paris attacks:
...Intelligence agencies in Turkey, Iraq and Israel had all warned of an imminent attack on France months beforehand, but were ignored by the French authorities...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/November_2015_Paris_attacks#Background
In the past have been several signs that the problem is not the amount of information.. they just don't use them to avoid attacks.

@ Sputnik_Monroe You make some very interesting, very good points, Thanks.
By revealing the top military secrets of US government, Snowdon has not only endanger the lives of those working in the CIA, NSA and also the ordinary citizen of the country. Is that ethical? To quote Whiplash775, Snowdon had taken an oath and he broke it. Is that kind of a man one respect and called a hero. He definitely cannot be trusted. If Snowdon has any dissent from the US government this is not the way to do it by revealing classified military information. He can stand for the US presidency. Which country do not walk in the mud to secure information? All country if they could. USA a country where smart and qualified people from all over the world especially from India immigrate to, is because the US of America is a well taken care of by the Democratic Government. bye friends
The US courts have already ruled that the mass surveillance Snowden revealed is illegal under us law!

Snowden laid the responsibility of disclosure to journalists and did not recklessly release information to the public that put US lives at risk. As far as I know, there has not been a single US casualty directly attributed to Snowden's leaks!

What Snowden did was also unique from other whistle blowers. Chealsea Manning, on the other hand, did put US lives at risk and did not reveal systemic illegal activity. In my mind, he/she is a traitor and deserves punishment for recklessly harming US interests. Snowden is not comparable to that.
