Politicizing the forums

Well the tittle sort of implies I want to but it's more a statement about how of late there has been more posts involving politics and tbh I would rather we not given that this is a site just for chest and if want to stir up and/or discuss that sort of shit there are so many other places or mediums which you can use to do that and I would rather we just focus on chess instead of having it invade every aspect and area of my life.

But if we are gonna involve politics in chess like we did during the cold war then let me be the first to say awful and inflammatory shit.
Ok, we accept your terms of being "the first to say awful and inflammatory shit." We are, however, a little bit confused about how posting about politics on a forum on a chess site is like the use of chess for political gains, and we'd love to hear your reasoning behind that one.

With all due respect:
Somebody not affiliated with lichess, who is obviously just being condescending.
It's nice to block out the world of politics on here and just focus on chess. It's a good escape. But at the same time, it's a message board so I am sure it'll inevitably turn political at times.
Yeah i think instead of trying to run everyone else's live maybe you could just not go into the "Off-Topic Discussion" forum if want to just focus on chess... I mean like Dang if you don't want to hear people talk about things other than chess on here then don't freaking read the forum that was made for the purpose of talking about things other than chess... and if you do, then don't whine about us talking about things other than chess... Dang... Fair enough?
This forum is specifically for everything that is not related to chess.

I think you get two kinds of political threads here so far.

1) Some people who try to fight against racism and discrimination, for fairness and justice, feel they are making the world a better place by raising awareness.

2) Others want to post threads saying things such as "x politician is bad, y is good, which doesn't add any substantive argument, it just states an opinion.

If you don't like them, just ignore them.
